"We don't believe in fans" hmmmmmmmmm maybe that is a French thing.
The incorrigible will not stop believing............ EVER.
Oliver suspects... what we know is what we don't know.
Oliver was reminded of being down near the Panama border having a Steak with Tom... Tom was a Medic in Viet Nam... who lived out his days ... in Costa Rica.... whiling them away.... with very liberal quantity of Vodka and Rum... taking pictures... making little movies... and smoking dope........
Anyway...... Oliver got to thinking about that evening of the Steak dinner.... he was very annoyed at having paid 95.00 U.S. dollars for that steak......... and NO fan............ Tom was sweating profusely ... he looked miserable ............
Oliver politely asked Ms. Frenchy.......... for a Fan......... she postulated raring back exclaiming " WE don't believe in fans"
Oh really !.......... but sweating like a pig is fine?
Maybe..... it was just a language barrier thing?
So Tom went and had his stroke a year or two later........... Oliver visited him in the Hospital...... down in Cortez
Thomas was uncomfortable tethered in the bed and combative....... drooling down his front...... and wearing huge at times loaded diapers........ oh how he detested them.
Now Tom....... settle your jets Oliver suggested, you will only make things worse............... Tom said his one arm was 'dead wood'....... he was a mess...
Oliver spoke with Tom (He hated to be called Tommy) sometimes Oliver would slip though....numerous times between his Stroke and Death......... Tom was always on in slurred speech about Oliver and him going for another steak......... and it would be his turn to pay this next time.

Lending creedence to something of value...... some how........ in that experience.........
and remembering " We don't believe in Fans"............ hmmmmmm maybe that is a French thing.
